Chip In

Privacy Policy

Last updated November 6, 2026

This policy explains what Chip In (operated by D&Q Developers Inc.) collects, why, and what we do with it. Short version: we collect the minimum needed to run a group gift pool, we never see your full card number, and we do not sell your data.

1. What we collect

If you organize a pool: your email (to sign you in), the pool details you enter, and, if you choose a bank payout, the identity and bank details you give Stripe. Stripe collects those directly; we only receive a confirmation that you are verified.

If you contribute: the name you enter (shown on the pool page), an optional message, an optional email for your receipt, and the amount. Your card or wallet details go straight to Stripe. We store a Stripe reference for the payment, not the card.

If you receive a gift card: the name and email the Organizer entered, which we pass to Tremendous so they can deliver the card.

Automatically: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) kept for security and debugging, and a sign-in cookie so you stay logged in. We do not run advertising trackers on Chip In.

2. How we use it

  • To run the pool: show who has chipped in, keep totals, send the payout.
  • To sign you in by email link.
  • To send receipts and gift card emails.
  • To prevent fraud and comply with our payment partners' requirements.
  • To reach you about your pool, including unclaimed funds.

We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Who we share it with

  • Stripe processes payments and bank payouts. Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Tremendous delivers gift cards. Tremendous's privacy policy.
  • Supabase hosts our database and sign-in system.
  • Netlify hosts the website.
  • Resend delivers our emails.
  • Law enforcement or regulators when we are legally required to.

Other people in your pool can see the contributor names and messages, and, if the Organizer turns it on, the amounts. Organizers can see contributor emails for their own pool.

4. How long we keep it

Pool and payment records are kept for as long as needed to run the service and meet financial record-keeping rules, generally seven years for payment records. You can ask us to delete your account and we will remove everything we are not required to keep.

5. Your choices

  • Contribute without giving an email. The name you enter can be a first name or a nickname.
  • Ask us to see, correct, or delete your data by emailing qtmarketingweb@gmail.com.
  • Clear your sign-in cookie by signing out.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Card data is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI Level 1 provider. Access to our database is restricted and logged. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your email account secure, since that is how you sign in.

7. Children

Chip In is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

We will post updates here and change the date at the top.
